On June 18, the main event of the 2025 Invest in Chengdu Global Investment Promotion Conference was held in Chengdu. Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, and Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, attended the event.

Before the event started, Wang Xiaohui and Shi Xiaolin visited investment ecosystem scenarios in Chengdu, such as the government-business matchmaking service desk and the AI financial supermarket operated by the Chengdu Investment Promotion Cen ter, as well as exhibitions of key industrial ecosystems, including artificial intelligence, commercial aerospace, and low-altitude economy. Wang Xiaohui commended Chengdu for its accomplishments in promoting the key industries to build industrial cluster ecosystems and strengthen industrial chains, along with its progress in driving high-quality development. Emphasizing Chengdu's pivotal role in both national and provincial development, he pointed out that the provincial Party committee and the provincial government attach great importance to and fully support the high-quality development of Chengdu. To this end, the provincial Party committee has convened special meetings to deliberate and make arrangements, and the provincial Party committee and the provincial government have issued supporting policy documents - all with the expectation that Chengdu will shoulder the heavy responsibility of taking the lead as the provincial capital city, optimize and strengthen its functions as a growth pole and core, set a new benchmark for the high-quality development and high-level governance of megacities, and make even greater contributions to Sichuan's modernization. Chengdu should bravely assume its mission and press ahead at full speed. By firmly anchoring its efforts in the central task of high-quality development, the city should not only enhance the quality and efficiency of traditional industries but also focus on emerging industries, future industries, and cutting-edge technologies to seize market opportunities and make strategic arrangements. It should attract a number of high-end and high-quality projects from around the world, continuously gain the upper hand in future development, and persistently inject new impetus into accelerating high-quality development. Wang Xiaohui emphasized that the seventh plenary session of the 12th CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee has made arrangements for promoting the in-depth integrated development of culture and tourism and for growing and strengthening the culture and tourism industry. He stressed that Chengdu should align with the objectives of establishing itself as a world-famous cultural city and a world tourism city, increase its efforts in cultivating and attracting cultural and tourism projects, and further solidify its role as the core engine driving the province's cultural and tourism development.

Cao Lijun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, delivered a welcome speech. He said that Chengdu is currently making intensive efforts to study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important instructions on the work in Sichuan, fully executing the decisions and arrangements made by the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, as well as the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, and accelerating the development of its "three centers and one base" initiative. Siddharth Chatterjee, UN Resident Coordinator in Chin a, delivered a video speech. He said that Chengdu is not only an ecological city but also an innovative one. It is home to numerous high-tech enterprises and research institutions. Through its practical approach of innovation-driven development, green and low-carbon practices, and inclusive growth, Chengdu demonstrates to the world that economic and social development can coexist harmoniously with ecological environment improvement. This conference has built an important platform for Chengdu to deepen its opening up. The United Nations system in China will actively support Chengdu in strengthening global cooperation in such fields as scientific and technological innovation, green transition, and sustainable urbanization.

Wang Fengchao, Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People's Government, hosted the event. Well-known entrepreneurs, academicians, and representatives of business associations and chambers at home and abroad issued an "Invest in Chengdu" initiative. Li Shufu, Chairman of Geely Holding Grou p; Liu Qingfeng, Chairman of iFLYTEK; Lu Chuan, Chairman of ADA Space; Takashi Akita, Executive Deputy General Manager of Toyota (China ); and Brian Agnew, General Manager of Airbus (Chengdu) Aircraft Full-Life Cycle Service Co., Ltd ., made exchange speeches. During the event, Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan, and Ziyang jointly released the "Chengdu Metropolitan Area Investment Guide", and Chengdu's relevant municipal departments jointly introduced the "Chain Leader Fund Action Plan" and the "Invest in Chengdu Policy Package". The event also featured a signing ceremony involving eight major industrialization projects, as well as eight aerospace and "space-based computing for space data" projects, with a total signing amount exceeding 80 billion yuan.
